READING Publishers Weekly’s recommendations for children’s books that spark empathy and BuzzFeed’s list of children’s books that encourage kindness towards each other. I hate the idea that one day my children will learn about the horrific tragedy that took place in Orlando last week. But I love that there are so many brave and inspiring authors that continue to create beautiful books to help me teach my kids about kindness, acceptance, and love.
EXCITED that my cousin and fellow book mama in San Diego shared this service from Pinhole Press with me. It allows you to create personalized board books for your kids. What a perfect way for them to learn relatives’ names and faces, when they don’t get to see them very often, in person.
OBSESSED with my husband and baby-daddy. Before we had our children we made the decision together that our dream for them would be for them to be kind to others and to develop a love of reading. He works tirelessly to make this dream come true. Especially when he reads the books that our kids love but that give me a headache, like “Where’s Waldo?”.
IMPRESSED with myself for turning off the TV tonight and getting started on my summer reading.
That’s a lie. I’m literally typing this in front of the blaring TV. Summer reading starts tomorrow! Unless of course there’s something amazing on to watch.
Have a wonderful weekend!
