READING The Little Shop of Monsters. It won the 2016 Children’s Choice Award for the category of Kindergarten – 2nd Grade and was the price for our winner of the Children’s Book Week Give-away. The monsters’ incredible descriptions by R.L. Stine and the giggle inducing illustrations by Marc Brown have made this book a winner in our house for weeks.
EXCITED to visit so many wonderful friends and relatives this summer. One way that grandparents can connect with grandchildren when they visit is to take them to the local library. Helping them to pick out a stack of books to be read together throughout the visit is a fun activity and can create some wonderful memories.
OBSESSED with building myself a summer reading list. ENOUGH with books for my kids! Just kidding…(sort of) but I am working hard to narrow down a list of summer reading that I will enjoy after the little ones have gone to bed. I’ll share my final list with you next week, but in the meantime, I’d love to know what’s on your list!
IMPRESSED with new travel books for kids from Lonely Planet. They have a Pop-Up series geared towards 5-8 year-olds and a more traditional book series, City Trails, for 8-12 year-olds. Don’t wait for an exotic family vacation to purchase these books. They’re great ways to teach kids about being tiny citizens of the world without leaving home.
Have a wonderful weekend!
